A process that takes millions of years - Agate is formed when mineral rich water enters rock cavities, which then evaporates. Each time the water enters and evaporates in the cavities, its cooling conditions and mineral deposit differs each time ever so slightly. Multiple layers are created over time and you can see the variations in the banding of the crystal.
The 'druzy' part of the name refers to the microscopic sugar-like glittering quartz crystal detailing which coats the surface of the agate pocket.
Most agate crystals are clear, beige, brown, grey or milky white in colour, however if other minerals are present this can alter the colours.
Often associated with the crown chakra bringing a deep spiritual connection, inner peace and emotional balance.
