Desert Rose is a fascinating crystal which is part of the gypsum family of crystals and is related to both Selenite and Satin Spa. It forms in wet sandy areas like deserts, rivers and coastal areas.
Its name comes from the fact they grow in a rose like formation, showing layers of circular flat plates of gypsum. Sand becomes trapped, making unique shapes in the process.
